Candied Apples Knitting Pattern Now Available

Candied Apples Knitting Pattern Now Available

The Candied Apples shawl is an asymmetrical piece that is knitted sideways. It has a zigzag edge on one side, which makes for an interesting shawl. It also features a combination of stockinette stitch and lace knitting for a more intricate texture.

I originally designed this shawl pattern for my friend who is a beginner in lace knitting, and I have since made it simpler to make it easy to understand. You can use hand dyed or variegated yarns for this shawl — any kind of yarn will look great with this pattern. You can even use thicker yarns so you can use the shawl this winter.

Don’t waste any of your special yarns! If you want to use up your yarns, we have various shawl patterns that you can adjust until the whole skein is used up. These specific projects are not gauge-sensitive, and you can increase or decrease the number of rows as you want. You can also repeat some charts.

This is a half moon-shaped top-down shawl. The body is worked in two contrasting colors, the sunny yellow floral sections are separated by royal blue yarn-over rows. The shape makes the shawl easy to wear as it sits nicely and stays on your shoulders. It is finished with a knitted-on edge in the contrast color. If you have never used this method, don’t worry, the pattern includes a link to a video tutorial to learn how to work it.
